Local Gourmet was founded by Chef Wayne Schilleci Jr. Chef Wayne is no stranger to the food service industry. He founded his Schilleci's concepts in Kansas, then moved back home to Houston, and recreated the brand, which still exists as Schilleci's New Orleans Kitchen, in Market Street of The Woodlands.

1999

Founded Schilleci's

Schilleci's was originally founded under the name Schilleci's Bakery Deli & Catering. The concept changed twice. Once to Schilleci's All American Cafe and then to Schilleci's Po Boy Shop.
2010

Schilleci's New Orleans Kitchen

Schilleci's Po Boy Shop was so extremely successful, that the Schilleci family expanded the concept, and relocated it to Market Street under its new name, Schilleci's New Orleans Kitchen.

Local Gourmet

Chef Wayne Schilleci missed being in the kitchen, returned to his roots, and founded Local Gourmet Catering by Chef Wayne Schilleci.

Thank you soooo much for making the event a wonderful feast of a success!!!! Local Gourmet, your food was absolutely delicious and prices very reasonable!!!  The menu available for the weekend event was a great variety of savory and sweet.  All homemade and wholesome.  The varieties of pockets, breakfast and lunch, were stuffed to the hilt with filling.  It was a great option for an all in one meal.  The vegan crowd loved having options also. Then there was the huge and scrumptious cinnamon rolls, especially the praline pecan, which melted in your mouth, literally.  At the event, patrons nicknamed Wayne's rolls, BIG A#$ rolls and just kept buying.  Wow!!  The chicken salad and chicken noodle soup were my personal favorites and for the other ladies also.   The lil ones absolutely loved the homemade brownies, cookies and of course, mac & cheese which was a great substitute to chips or fries.  These items were only a few among the many menu options available to select for the event. Can't wait to experience more!!!

We had Chef Wayne's 'No Cook Monday' meal today and from beginning to end it was delicious. Today's meal was Chicken Parmigiana; delicious homemade marinara sauce   with creamy pasta and a garden salad with fruit that was second to none. Also garlic bread and yummy brownies for desert. At $45 for serving for 4 it can't be beat. We will be ordering every Monday. This includes delivery to your front door! Give him a try and I hope you'll enjoy it as much as my family.
